Some Helpful Hints:
We're adding to this list as we learn more about the chatroom :-)
- If you don't see anything above, make sure java is enabled in your browser preferences!
- To permanently change your color, double click on the color you want so a box gets drawn around it
- B is bold, N means Negative, U means Underline-- N means Normal(?)
- When you see someone get a +o, this is an OP. (In the java chat, you see the little spider by their name) The only OPs so far are Rob (_skie_) and Jessica (CastMom) since we're still "testing" our chatroom out. OPs can kick and ban troublemakers and change the topic, that's about it. So if you suddenly can't talk to anyone, you probably got kicked by the cast mom for being a bad kid :-P
- "Bugged" is the guy that hosts the server our webpage is on, Neal! You probably won't get an answer if you try talking to him... he's not there 99% of
the time.
- To change your nickname, type /nick **insert your new name here** Nicknames cannot have spaces in them. Many common nicknames, probably including your "real name" have already been registered by other people who use this
chat service (hundreds of webpages already use this program). To register your nickname so noone else can ever
use it, change to that nickname and type "/ns register **a password** **your e-mail**"
- To run around naked in the chatroom type "/me runs around naked". Or type anything you want after the /me to
do "actions"
- To send private messages, double click on the user you want to send private messages too. It should open up
a new window. When you recieve private messages it may not show up in it's own window at first, it will show as " *person* hello! " (note the *'s instead of <>'s) double click to make a new window for all of the private messages
you are being sent so it doesn't clutter the main window.
- If you have a helpful hint you think should be posted here, send it to rob@skie.cx or post it to the WWWBoard
